Plane flies over PRF event with banner with the phrase ‘Bolsonaro lied’

While agents and authorities participated this Thursday (30) in an event for the 94th anniversary of the PRF (Federal Highway Police) at the headquarters of the PRF Corporate University in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, a plane flew over the event site with the words: ” Nothing to celebrate. Bolsonaro lied to the PRFs”.

At one point during the air protest, the plane disputed space with a PRF helicopter that was part of the event, which was attended by the Minister of Justice, Anderson Torres, and the director general of the PRF, Silvinei Vasques.

The plane was rented by FenaPRF (National Federation of Federal Highway Police), which is part of the PRF state unions, to embarrass President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) after he publicly admitted that there will be no career restructuring or salary increases for federal servants. .

According to FenaPRF, Bolsonaro’s promise to restructure the careers of the PRF and other civil security forces dates back to the president’s first visit to Florianópolis, in October 2019, for a graduation from the institution.

After more than three years without progress in the negotiations, the president admitted in an interview with the SBT channel, on June 7, that the measures will be for 2023, in case of reelection.

In the interview, the president stated that “some categories ask for restructuring. But when you talk about restructuring a career, the others do not admit that theirs are not also restructured. And they don’t have the resources to do so”.

Then he promised that, “for next year [2023]we will have readjustment and restructuring.”

The restructuring of careers and the recomposition of security forces such as the PRF, the Federal Police, the Department of Penitentiary and the Military Police and the Federal District firefighters were included in the Budget Guidelines Law for 2023. However, there are no guarantees that the investment will be carried out.

The protest in Santa Catarina was not the only one. In Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, representatives of the local PRF union attended the motorcycle race held by Bolsonaro to distribute 1,277 BIC brand pens, one for each day of government in which the president did not fulfill his promise. At the site, banners read: “President Paulo Guedes, return the pen to Minister Bolsonaro”.

Similar protests should be repeated in the coming months, promises FenaPRF.

“Disappointment is an insufficient word to describe the feeling of the category with the president, who, over three years, only surfed on the popularity of the police without having done anything for them”, says the president of FenaPRF, Dovercino Borges Neto.

According to Borges, the restructuring should encompass, in addition to salary recomposition provided for by law, measures such as a lifetime pension to families in the event of the death of agents on duty, including accidents on highways, as is the case with the Military Police. Today, the benefit is temporary.

The unionist also claims that the PRF was worn out in episodes involving agents that were related to Bolsonarism, such as the murder of Genivaldo Santos inside a PRF vehicle, in Sergipe, and the presence in an operation that resulted in 23 deaths in Vila Cruzeiro, in Rio de Janeiro.

For him, one of the objectives of the serial protests is to detach the image of the police from that of Bolsonaro and “retake the image of the citizen police” of the institution. The category should seek approximation with other presidential candidates until the elections.
