Nelson de Sá: Lula beckons with ‘climate czar’ and, in the economy, ‘reasures billionaires’

The Reuters agency reports again that “Research shows Lula maintaining strong leadership in the presidential race”, now Genial/Quaest.

Bloomberg, on the other hand, goes on to detail what his government could be, with new reports such as “Lula reassures Brazilian billionaires who are suspicious of a turn to the left”, about a meeting at Fiesp, and “Lula studies naming a climate czar”:

Among the possible nominees for “a position similar to that of John Kerry in the US”, the American news service cites Senator Jaques Wagner and former Foreign Minister Celso Amorim.

On the other hand, Bloomberg reports that “one of the best-known investors in Latin American stocks is reducing exposure to Brazilian stocks, given the perspective for the prices of certain commodities, especially iron ore, while increasing in Mexico”.

It’s Will Landers, of BTG Pactual and ex-BlackRock, who does not foresee “a major disruption in the country’s fiscal policy” after the presidential election. “Once we know the economic plans and the winner’s team, there should be some relief with the expected continuity signal.”

Also in China, portals such as 163 and Sina have been reporting negative signs, such as “Car sales in Brazil fell by 4.81% in June” or “Brazil’s corn production projection decreases”.

5G debuts, after all

After years of controversy, 5G debuted in Brazil with no electoral exploitation by Bolsonaro, apart from occasional social media posts by Minister Fábio Faria or Senator Flavio Bolsonaro.

Abroad, the news is restricted to portals in China or, also in Chinese, Singapore. Even there, little mention is made of Huawei, which overcame American resistance to be a protagonist in Brazilian 5G.
