Panel SA: Plastics industry improves forecast for the second half

by

With a strong dependence on petroleum derivatives, the plastics industry has improved its projections for the second half of the year, according to José Ricardo Roriz, president of Abiplast (Brazilian Association of the Plastics Industry).

Despite the rise of the dollar, he sees a breath of fall in quotations with the risk of global recession.

“There are great indications that in the second half of the year we will have a much lower oil price. The productive sector was worried. As food and transport inflation is mainly caused by high fuel prices, it is still a good sign”, he says. Roriz.
