Referring to the small delay that exists, the Deputy Minister emphasized “that we are waiting for hundreds of thousands of people to enter and we would not like there to be a negative first impression”
The responsible Deputy Minister expressed her satisfaction with the situation in tourism, Sophia Zacharakis speaking to ERT.

Money that will be tax-free. It is an amount that will go towards the liquidity of the business” stressing that all this is “a positive chain reaction”.
It is recalled that the program as it is now, concerns exclusively accommodation with the Deputy Minister of Tourism clarifying that “any other addition would significantly delay its start” while she noted regarding the program:
- The budget increased by 10 million,
- 30 million in total,
- an additional 200,000 beneficiaries,
- 150€ more and
- the individual income is €16,000 and the family income is €28,000 (which is increased in both cases by €1,500 per child)
Referring to tourism position of the country on the map, Mrs. Zaharaki noted that “Greece is one of the most popular destinations, while this year there will be approximately three million tourists who will come with TUI and she underlined three new facts according to the specific organization:
- Greece is in particular demand for September, October, November packages
- It is first in demand in luxury travel.
- Many people choose a cruise in Greece
