The total number of withdrawals made through Pix in Brazil reached its record in June. According to a balance sheet released this Tuesday (12) by the Central Bank, more than R$ 31 million were withdrawn by Pix Saque or Pix Troco.
Options are an alternative to ATM withdrawal. Just go to a store, such as supermarkets, and transfer via Pix the amount you want to withdraw in cash from the place.
At Pix Saque, the amount is withdrawn without having to make a purchase. In Pix Troco, the customer receives in cash the difference between the value of the product and that transferred by Pix.
There were 226,116 withdrawals by Pix in June, almost 40 thousand more than in May, a month with 30 thousand more withdrawals than the previous month.
The amount withdrawn also continues to rise. In December, one month after the tool was launched in the country, less than R$ 439 thousand were withdrawn in 3,881 operations.
Period | Pix Withdrawal (in BRL) | Pix Exchange (in BRL) | Number of transactions |

Despite the month-to-month escalation, the withdrawal modalities are small within the universe of the instant payment system.
Launched in November 2020, Pix has over 130 million users. Together, they have already moved around R$ 17 trillion through the platform. Last month alone, it was R$ 773 billion.
The perception about the safety of Pix, however, is still not unanimous. According to a Datafolha survey with 1,806 people in 61 municipalities in São Paulo, 30% find the payment method not at all safe, while 47% consider it a little safe. The reason is the explosion of crimes involving Pix.
