Grants of up to R$1,000 need regulation; understand

by

The federal government will pay, until the end of December, aid to several categories, after a maneuver that circumvents the electoral legislation, creates a state of emergency in Brazil and increases public spending by R$ 41.25 billion on the eve of the election.

The PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) Kamikaze raises the Auxílio Brasil from R$400 to R$600, increases the Auxílio Gás to R$120 (the last amount paid was R$53), creates the aid of R$1,000 for truck drivers, determines aid for taxi drivers — still without a defined amount — and provides for the release of funds to states to pay for transportation of the elderly and ethanol tax, in addition to R$ 500 million for the Alimenta Brasil program.

Of the seven benefits that are being created, three of them need regulation by the competent ministries, which has not yet been done, but, according to information obtained by the Sheetmust occur as soon as possible.

The new Auxílio Brasil will be paid in five installments of R$ 600, starting in August, for those who are part of CadÚnico (Cadastro Único). The intention is to include another 2 million families and pay the temporary benefit to 20.2 million Brazilians. This benefit is already regulated and should not change.

The waiting list for the benefit only increases, but the government does not plan to pay extra amounts for those who enter later.

To receive, the family must be in a situation of:

In the case of Auxílio Gás, the benefit will be paid to at least 5.4 million families starting in August. These families must also be registered in CadÚnico. There will be three installments of R$ 120, in August, October and December, since the benefit is bimonthly. The aid rules are also already regulated and should not undergo changes.

The benefit is paid to families enrolled in CadÚnico, with a monthly family income less than or equal to half a minimum wage per person (R$ 606 this year), including those receiving other benefits from government programs.

To be eligible, you must have your registration updated within the last 24 months. Priority is given to families with the lowest income per person, with the largest number of people, who receive Auxílio Brasil and who have women victims of domestic violence who are under the monitoring of urgent protective measures.

Auxílio Gás is deposited together with Auxílio Brasil, following the same calendar.

What still needs regulation

According to the special assistant secretary for the Treasury and Budget of the Ministry of Economy, Julio Alexandre, there are aids that need to be regulated by the ministries. This is the case of truck driver assistance, taxi assistance and benefits for the elderly and to pay for ethanol in the states.

There is also the Alimenta Brasil program, which will receive R$ 500 million, but, as it is already paid by the Ministry of Citizenship, there is no need for new regulations, informed the Ministry of Economy.

Truck driver and taxi driver assistance do not have a date

According to ANTT (National Land Transport Agency), the truck driver allowance of up to R$ 1,000 should benefit 872,320 professionals with TAC (Autonomous Cargo Carrier) registration done until May 31 of this year.

It is not yet known what the rules for receiving, how and where the deposit will be made and how to make the consultation to have the money.

Taxi assistance must be regulated by the Ministries of Infrastructure and Regional Development. The value of the benefit paid to each taxi driver is not yet defined. It is only known that it will be paid to registered professionals until May 31 of this year.

In the case of the amounts to pay for the transport of the elderly, as provided for in the Elderly Statute and the amount to be allocated to states that zero the ICMS on ethanol, state and municipal regulations are necessary for the transfer.

According to the PEC, all benefits end in December.

When contacted, the ministries of Citizenship, Infrastructure and Labor did not respond until the publication of this report.
