Cryptocurrency rental company Rental Coins says that it acts in court and extrajudicially in an attempt to close a deal with customers who felt aggrieved after the company’s economic restructuring.
Rental is accused of coup and is responding to more than 350 lawsuits in court, including one involving model Sasha Meneghel and her husband, gospel singer João Figueiredo. It is also the subject of investigation by the Federal Police.
In Sasha’s case, the company claims that, like other clients, it made extrajudicial contact to close a deal, in vain. “Attempts to reach an agreement with Sasha and João took place on three different occasions, all, however, unsuccessful, since the couple preferred to follow the advice of their lawyers and try to satisfy their legal claims”, says a note sent to Sheet.
Sought, Sasha’s adviser did not comment.
In the case involving former judge Janguiê Diniz, who also invested high amounts in bitcoin rentals, Rental claims that negotiations for the extrajudicial agreement are advanced in an attempt to meet the “interests of both”. “In this scenario, any fruitful proposal will be taken to court for approval.
According to the company’s legal representatives, the crisis at Rental began in October 2021 after an audit. That’s when a process of “restructuring/reorganization” began in order to solve the problems. The company attributed the “errors” to past managements.
The restructuring plan was accepted by nearly 10,000 customers, but some refused. “In this scenario, with the aim of continuing to provide an individualized and quality service, all customers were informed about the new terms of the operation, culminating in the acceptance of the restructuring plan, so far, by 9,445 customers, in addition to the 4,533 customers who decided to terminate their contracts by means of extrajudicial agreements”, informs a note.
Regarding the lawsuits, the company says it is a “large” number. “Thus, the publication of the number of lawsuits involving the company, although, in a separate analysis, may seem substantial, it does not reflect the current situation of the signed contracts, not reaching even 10% of all customers that have a legal business relationship with Rental Coins.”
About the partnership with Pastor Silas Malafaia, the company confirms what was said by the pastor to Sheet, that there was no partnership in cryptocurrency business. “This partnership lasted for a few months, being terminated by a commercial agreement between the parties, with no pending issues to be resolved on the matter.”
understand the blow
The cryptocurrency rent scam involved businessman Francisley Valdevino da Silva, Francis Silva, known as Sheik dos Bitcoins. Silva, who owns Rental Coins and is listed as the owner of more than 130 companies, was once a partner of Pastor Silas Malafaia in a digital store focused on the evangelical segment.
Sasha, like many of the investors, would have learned about the business through the evangelical church he attends. In addition to legal proceedings, the Civil Police of the Federal District and the Federal Police investigate cases.
