Budget: 11% above target revenue in 6 months
At 3.129 billion euros, the primary deficit of the state budget was formed in the first half of the year, below the target, due to higher revenues, according to the data of the Ministry of Finance published on Monday.
The government predicted a deficit of 4.896 billion euros for the January-June period.
Based on revised government forecasts, the primary deficit is expected to shrink to 2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) this year, from 7.3 percent of GDP in 2021, Reuters notes.
Revenues totaled €28.95 billion, 11% above target. Expenditures stood at €32.81 billion, €646 million higher than the target.
