Panel SA: Bolsonaro officializes candidacy at an unfavorable moment with businessmen

by

The officialization of Bolsonaro’s candidacy this Sunday (24) takes place at a time of noise in the president’s dialogue with the business community. If, on the one hand, big names in the private sector are articulating a new public demonstration in defense of democracy to criticize Bolsonaro’s recent attacks on the polls on the eve of the election, on the other hand, even the most ostensible Bolsonaro businessmen spent the day of the convention no big honors.

Among the president’s allies who usually support the government on social media, Winston Ling, Junior Durski and Salim Mattar did not speak on Sunday. Luciano Hang published excerpts from the campaign jingle, video of the event and memes in support of Bolsonaro. “We continue to believe, defending the country against falsified leftist ideologies and in the search for the preservation of freedom,” he wrote.

The group that resumes the movement to defend the electoral system includes Fábio Barbosa, president of Natura, and José Olympio Pereira, former president of Credit Suisse in Brazil. Formerly led by Paulo Skaf, an ally of Bolsonaro, Fiesp, now under Josué Gomes, included in its document of guidelines for presidential candidates a call for democratic stability.

Bolsonaro was expected to participate in a meeting with the IDV (institute that brings together the largest retail chains in the country, such as Riachuelo and Magalu) this Monday (25). However, Bolsonaro unmarked and does not have a new confirmed date.
