Porsche 911 GT3 is an old-fashioned sports car, with a big engine and no turbo

by

In addition to breaking the performance record with an electric car, Porsche occupied the fastest gasoline sports station in the Folha-Mauá Ranking 2022.

The 911 GT3 follows the old recipe. Its 4.0 boxer aspirated engine (510 hp), associated with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, ensured the acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

It is a strong and noisy car, designed to run on closed tracks. But it is possible to get it on the streets, although it is not the best environment for this Porsche that costs around R$ 1.2 million.

Anyone who wants a sports car with moderate consumption will like the Audi RS5. The sedan was the most economical in its category both in the city and on the road, where it averaged 15.2 km/l.

How tests are done

To measure the performance of cars, the IMT (Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia) uses the V-Box, equipment that uses a GPS signal.

The acceleration and resumption tests are carried out on the ZF company track, in Limeira (São Paulo countryside).

The stage that checks consumption in the city is 27 km long. To simulate a road trip at 90 km/h, engineers drive for 31 km. Both routes are in São Caetano do Sul (ABC), where the institute’s headquarters are located.

If the car is flex-fuel, two measurements are made: one with ethanol, the other with gasoline.

The consumption of electric models is measured through the charger installed in the IMT. The test calculates the cost to run 100 km in urban and road modes.
