The IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) opened this Thursday (28) a simplified selection process to hire census takers for the 2022 Census. In all, there are 15,075 temporary vacancies.
Entries can be made until next Monday (1st), without charging a fee. Interested parties must take the completed registration form to one of the IBGE posts. The application form and the list of addresses are available in the public notice.
According to the public notice published in this Thursday’s edition of the Official Gazette, the selection will be made through curriculum analysis. To participate in the process, the candidate must have completed elementary school. The announcement of the final result is scheduled for August 10th.
When filling out the form, the candidate should consider only the highest scoring academic degree. Points will not be cumulative.
The forecast is for a contract of up to three months, which can be extended as needed to complete the 2022 Census activities and the availability of budget resources.
The recommendation is that the census taker work at least 25 hours per week. The professional will also undergo mandatory training before the start of the Census collection.
The census taker’s main function is to interview the residents during the collection. As remuneration is based on production, it can vary according to the time devoted to work and the degree of difficulty in approaching households, which may depend on the census sector (urban or rural) and type of questioning (basic or sample).

Data collection for the 2022 Demographic Census will begin on August 1st, two months after the deadline previously set by the IBGE, the originally scheduled date was June 1st, but had to be changed due to the change of the bank responsible for the contest that intends to hire more than 200 thousand temporary workers for Census operations.
