Mr. Mitsotakis thanked Mr. Watsas who stayed in Greece and in difficult times such as 2015 when, as he said, we came very close to an economic collapse.

Mr. Mitsotakis noted that some are talking about a “revolution of the wise in Greece” while Mr. Watsa said that he has business interests in Greece and said that the Greek Prime Minister is proposing the opportunity in Greece. “It’s a very business-friendly government, but the main thing he said is that we have to be open, things have to be open to entrepreneurs. I am very positive about Greece because of the government that has changed. You see it in interest rates. I am a fan of Greece. “And the investors, when they come and see it, will experience the truth of what I said,” he added.
Addressing the Greeks who are abroad and are thinking of returning to Greece, the Prime Minister said, among other things, that we have reduced taxes and insurance contributions, but we also gave financial incentives. “If we talk about the quality of life, Greece is an incomparable country”, he underlined while among other things he said that our country will become an educational hub. “I was talking to Albert Burlas when I went to launch the digital hub in Thessaloniki. He told me that one in four applications he receives are from Greeks abroad. There are good and well-paid jobs. “If you want to start your own business, this is the best time to do it.”
Kyriakos Mitsotakis also stated that meritocracy starts from the top, and said that he opened the ND party to people who had nothing to do with politics. Citing PPC as an example, he said that he considers that its leading team is very good and that everywhere the effort is to select the best.
Mr. Watsa estimated that he will not be surprised if the growth reaches 8% in Greece, while compared to 2017 he stated that big changes have been made. He also said that all kinds of funds are coming to India and predicted that the same will happen in Greece.
