IBGE extends registration for 15,000 census takers in the 2022 Census

The IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) has extended to August 3 the deadline for registration for the selection process opened this Thursday (28) with the aim of hiring census takers for the 2022 Census.

There are 15,075 temporary vacancies for individuals with complete elementary education. Applications will continue until Wednesday, August 3.

Other dates have also been changed. The disclosure of those enrolled is moved to August 5th and the final result of the title analysis will be moved to August 10th. The final result of the selection process will be on August 15th. The deadlines for appeal have also changed.

The updated schedule can be seen in a statement released by the IBGE.

Selection to participate in the census will be made through curriculum analysis. To participate in the process, the candidate must have completed elementary school. The announcement of the final result is scheduled for August 10th.

When filling out the form, the candidate should consider only the highest scoring academic degree. Points will not be cumulative.

Contractors will work for three months

The forecast is for a contract of up to three months, which can be extended as needed to complete the 2022 Census activities and the availability of budget resources.

The working day is foreseen for the professional to work at least 25 hours per week. The professional will also undergo mandatory training before the start of the Census collection.

The census taker’s main function is to interview the residents during the collection. As remuneration is based on production, it can vary according to the time devoted to work and the degree of difficulty in approaching households, which may depend on the census sector (urban or rural) and type of questioning (basic or sample).
