The country’s military is on 4 axes – Which lights will turn off first – Running… and Germany is not enough – Russia has cut off the supply to Latvia and is playing games with Nord Stream 1
The issue of natural gas is turning into Russian roulette for Europe and therefore for Greece. THE Moscow cut the supply to Latvia on Saturday, showing while playing games with the pipeline Nord Stream 1citing the sanctions and inability to repair the turbine.
Europe is already preparing for the possibility of a complete interruption of natural gas supplies from Russia. Developments, however, are running faster than the pace of decisions in Brussels, at the same time that prices are maintained at unprecedentedly high levels, dragging the entire spectrum of the European economy into a real precision rally.
THE Gazprom announced on Saturday the interruption of the flow of natural gas to Latviadue to a violation of the rules, he said, meaning that the ruble fee was not paid, as the Kremlin and Putin have decreed by law.
For the same reasons, Gazprom has already cut off the supply to Poland, Bulgaria, Finland, Netherlands and Denmark.
At the same time, citing technical reasons and Western sanctions, it has reduced the flow to Germany through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to 20%. Due to the sanctions against Russia and without the approval of Gazprom, the turbine was not sent from Canada to Russia but to Germany .
Berlin has already announced a series of measures to save energy regarding their industry, with the additional annual cost for German households estimated at 3,000 euros!
Greece’s energy saving plan
According to what SKAI and ERT reported, the Greek government has a plan to save energy and reduce natural gas consumption by 15%. More specifically:
-The first lights to go out will be those of the monuments. The switch will go down at 3 am.
– The reduction of public lighting will also follow, with the municipalities turning off the supply to one in 10 lamps.
-Depending on the developments, the situation will be reviewed and it is possible that further measures will be decided.
In 4 axes the strategy
The strategy for ensuring the energy sufficiency of the country is based on 4 axes:
-The increase in liquefied natural gas orders in Revythoussa,
– the doubling of lignite production, which is expected in two months, when Ptolemaida 5 will be put into trial operation,
– the burning of oil in the 5 hybrid natural gas units,
– the rental of 2 underground warehouses in Italy.
The risk analysis of the European energy regulatory authority shows that Greece is among the EU countries that run the least risk.
