The migration to telecommuting initiated by the coronavirus pandemic has helped to increase the participation of women on the XP brokerage staff, which freed all 6,000 employees to continue working from home if they do not want to return to the office.
The participation of women in the company has increased from 22% to 32% since July of last year, when XP made a commitment to reach the 50% target at all hierarchical levels by 2025. The number of mothers has also grown. They were 15% in July and now represent 26%.
The brokerage created exclusive vacancies for women and started to offer extended maternity and paternity leave, in addition to other benefits. The company says it believes that the flexibility to better manage the routine and reconcile it with childcare has increased women’s interest in the company.
