Deadline to apply for 15 thousand IBGE vacancies ends this Wednesday (3)

by

The deadline to apply for one of the 15,075 temporary vacancies to work in the 2022 Census of the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) ends this Wednesday (3). The requirement is to have completed elementary school.

Remuneration varies according to the production of the census taker, whose main function is to interview residents during the collection. As remuneration is based on production, it may vary according to the time devoted to work and the degree of difficulty in approaching households, which may depend on the census sector (urban or rural) and type of questioning (basic or sample).

The IBGE recommends a minimum of 25 hours of work per week. It is possible to calculate an estimate of the remuneration in this simulator. The expected duration of the contract is up to three months.

There will be no test, just an application, which is done in person. The selection of those approved will be done through curricular analysis. To find out where a registration post is located in your municipality, the worker can click here and check the addresses.

The announcement of the entries will be made on August 5th and the final result of the title analysis will take place on August 10th. The final result of the selection process will be on August 15th. The deadlines for appeal and other information can be checked in a statement released by the IBGE.

2022 census takes two years delay

After two years of delay and the threat of a statistical blackout in the country, the Demographic Census started this Monday (1st). By October, the IBGE intends to visit 75 million households across Brazil – from the periphery, riverside locations and indigenous communities to luxury homes and condominiums.

The preliminary results of the population count should be released by the end of this year, according to the IBGE forecast. More detailed data tends to be released from 2023 onwards.

The Census should update the total number of the population, currently estimated at 215 million inhabitants, but it will also expand information about the country, showing characteristics such as age, sex, color or race, religion, education, income, basic sanitation of households, etc. .

Scheduled for 2020, the population count, which takes place every ten years, is no longer done because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Afterwards, the federal government decided to cut the research budget, making the survey unfeasible and only released the work after a decision by the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
