President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) will have a meeting on the 8th with Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks) and CNF (National Confederation of Financial Institutions).
According to the institutions, the meeting will serve for the Chief Executive to “talk about the Brazilian economy and listen to the vision of the financial industry”.
The entity must still announce the invitation to other pre-candidates for the Presidency of the Republic to deal with the elections.
Febraban is one of the institutions that decided to sign the manifesto organized by civil society entities in defense of democracy.
“Febraban, within the scope of its internal governance, by majority, decided to subscribe to a document sent to the entity by Fiesp [Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo]entitled ‘In Defense of Democracy and Justice,'” he said in a statement.
Bolsonaro, in turn, tried to disqualify the signatories of the letter and said that it was signed by “mammal businessmen”.
“These people who sign this manifesto are blunt, without character, I won’t use other adjectives, because I’m a very polite person,” said the president, in an interview with Rádio GuaÃba.
Earlier this week, the president canceled a trip to São Paulo on the 11th, the same date that the letter in defense of democracy at an event at USP should be read.
The representative canceled the dinner with businessmen from the Esfera Brasil group and also the trip to a debate that would be held at Fiesp on the same day.
