The July punctuality ranking by the OAG (Official Aviation Guide), an institution specialized in collecting data from more than 1,200 airports around the world, has four Brazilians among the 20 best in the world.
The world aviation on-time performance report is produced monthly and is based on actual departure gate times. Flights that depart up to 15 minutes after the scheduled time are considered punctual.
The airport of Londrina (PR) won the 11th position, the best place in Brazil, with 96.0% of departures considered punctual. Petrolina (PE) reached the 13th place, registering 95.5% punctuality.
Then, the airport of Juazeiro do Norte (CE) reached the 19th place with 94.6%. Finally, Montes Claros (MG), occupying the 20th position, with the same 94.6%.
The most punctual airport in the world, according to the ranking, is Matsumoto, in Japan, with 98.9% punctuality.
Brazilian airports were also highlighted in Skytrax’s World Airport Awards 2022, which maps the best airports in the world.
Three Brazilians are in the top ten positions among the terminals in South America: Guarulhos Airport (5th), Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro (7th) and Congonhas, in São Paulo (10th). Voting for choice is done by airport customers themselves.
Also according to the award, Brazil also stood out in South America in the category “the best airport team”, which recognizes the service of employees in front-line positions, such as those who work at the help, information and Shops. The list includes Galeão (6th) and Guarulhos (7th) airports.
In the “cleanest airports” category in the region in 2022, Brazil scored three in the top ten places: Galeão (6th), Guarulhos (7th) and Recife, in the capital of Pernambuco (10th).
