President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) sanctioned this Wednesday (10) the LDO (Budget Guidelines Law).
The chief executive vetoed more than 30 parts of the rule approved by Congress on July 12. The LDO is responsible for establishing which goals and priorities will be implemented in the Union budget in the following year. The sanction was published in the Official Gazette of this Wednesday.
Parliament almost included in the LDO the obligation to pay the so-called rapporteur’s amendments.
The imposition of these amendments was even approved by the CMO (Mixed Budget Committee). The idea was to plaster the next president of the Republic and expand the power of Congress over the Budget.
Leader in polls of voting intentions for this year’s presidential election, former president Lula (PT) is against the so-called rapporteur’s amendments.
Parliamentarians, however, backed off and removed this requirement from the norm.
The proposal was approved with the favorable vote of 324 federal deputies, against 110 against. PT, Novo, PC do B, PSB, PSOL and Rede guided the vote against the text. In the Senate, there were 46 in favor and 23 against.
