Embrapii (Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation) has appointed economist José Luis Gordon as the organization’s new CEO. He assumes the new position in September and replaces Jorge Almeida Guimarães. Term will be four years.
Gordon, who held the position of executive secretary of ABDE (Brazilian Development Association), was one of the creators of Embrapii.
Since 2013, after signing a management contract with the Ministry of Science and Technology, Embrapii has been supporting technological research institutions to foster innovation in the industry.
Gordon was also the organization’s director of institutional planning and relations for seven years.
