The Deputy Minister of Finance noted that as Russian natural gas increases, the government should give money so that consumers do not see these increases

The only economic measure that has been locked in is that we will continue to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses and households in terms of electricity, as this is also the big uncertainty, he stressed in SKAI 100.3 radio the Deputy Minister of Finance Theodoros Skylakakis

He noted that as the Russian natural gasthe government should give money so that consumers do not see these increases

Mr. Skylakakis noted that in August alone, more than 200 million euros were given for energy.

The deputy minister explained that gas prices are ten times higher than they were before the war in Ukraine and this is a problem that does not allow us to do permanent planning. He characteristically mentioned that someone must be a Calchas seer to predict gas prices

He also emphasized that natural gas is a part of the hybrid war that Russia has launched against Europe alongside the one in Ukraine.

Referred to in yesterday’s budget figures he stressed that the revenue overrun is not as large as it appears as the road tax and the refundable advance are included.

However, he noted that we have a very good performance of the economy which is also reflected in revenues, since we also have reduced taxes.

Mr. Skylakakis underlined that the key to continuing the virtuous cycle of the Greek economy is not to be overturned by political instability.
