The minister also appealed for vaccination as he emphasized that the existing vaccines still protect against the severe disease.

As for updated vaccines said that Moderna and Pfizer have vaccines in late-stage trials for Omicron and even more updated vaccines for the Omicron4-5 submutations. “We hope to have the vaccines within the year,” emphasized Mr. Pleuris. Finally he mentioned that 2,300 doses of monkeypox vaccines were received yesterday from our country and a meeting of the Vaccination Committee will be held on August 23 regarding the conditions for their administration.
