Apple to launch iPhone 14 on September 7, agency says

Apple plans to launch the iPhone 14 lineup at an event on September 7, Bloomberg news agency said on Wednesday, citing sources close to the company. In addition to new cell phones, new models of Macs, iPads and Apple Watches should also be launched.

According to the agency, Apple is expected to follow the pattern of releasing the new iPhone in stores about a week after the presentation event, and some retail employees have already been instructed to prepare for a major launch of new products in store windows. on the 16th of September.

The event should be broadcast online, maintaining the standard of releases made since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, and employees would have already started recording excerpts of the presentation, according to Bloomberg.

An Apple spokesperson declined to comment on the date of the event, as plans are still open. The company, however, usually reveals new iPhone models in the first half of September.

The standard iPhone 14 should look similar to the iPhone 13, but the company should drop the 5.4-inch “mini” version and add a model with a 6.7-inch screen.

Bloomberg says the iPhone 14 Pro’s most significant changes will be to the camera system, which will look a little bigger to consumers. The Pro models will get a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera alongside 12-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto sensors. Apple would also be planning improvements to video recording and battery life.

For the latest Apple Watches, known as the Series 8, Apple will add features for women’s health and a body temperature sensor. The standard watch will be similar to the 7 Series, but a new professional model will go after more sporty consumers. It will have a larger screen, sturdy titanium case, new fitness tracking features and longer battery life.

Apple would also be working on a low-cost iPad and new iPad Pro models for later this year, Bloomberg News reported. It also intends to launch new Macs as it is working on versions of the Mac mini and MacBook Pro with M2-based processors.
