Conar (National Advertising Self-Regulation Council) warned Americanas for the announcement of a gun-shaped key ring and recommended removing the advertising from the air.
The keyring appeared on the retailer’s website alongside other products, such as a musical keyboard, and Conar concluded that the advertisement did not make it clear that it was a keyring and not an actual weapon.
According to Conar, although the merchandise belongs to the seller who is part of the marketplace, the rapporteur considered that the responsibility for the placement of the ad belongs to Americanas.
Sought, the company said that the advertisement was taken off the air and that the sale of firearms is prohibited on its platforms.
“In the Americanas marketplace there are more than 140,000 partner stores that sell their products in various categories to end customers daily. says the company.
This is not the first time that a case of this type has ended up in Conar. Last month, the board recommended AliExpress to suspend ad for a gun photo sticker.
