Kikilias to SKAI: Now 1 million tourists come to Greece a week.

This year’s 17% increase in arrivals compared to 2019 to the islands of the SE Aegean was announced by the Minister of Tourism through SKAI Vassilis Kikilias.

“For the first week of August (August 1-7) at our ‘flagship’ which is the islands of the SE Aegean which has the largest piece of the tourist pie, this year we have a 17% increase in arrivals compared to 2019. We now estimate that 1 million tourists come to Greece per week,” said Mr. Kikilias.

“(Short-term rental data platform) AirDNA Nationwide calculated for July and August, and September bookings, 26.5% increase of short-term rental this year compared to 2019,” he pointed out.

“Despite the energy crisis, the pandemic, the warts, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we not only endured, but gave a significant economic surplus to the citizens,” the Minister of Tourism emphasized.
