The total aid to households and businesses will rise to 2 billion euros, in order to cover most of the charges on the electricity bills for September, said Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, speaking to Realfm 97.8.
The Minister of Finance emphasized that extra income is coming to Greek households due to the reduction in unemployment, the increase in receipts from tourism, continued investments and the increase in the minimum wage.
He noted that citizens are proceeding to cover tax obligations without a reduction in deposits.
This good picture, he added, is clouded by inflation and problems in the energy sector, he underlined and added that the State has built lines of defense to support households and businesses.
