New “jump” in wholesale electricity prices in Europe – At 402 megawatt hours in Greece

The wholesale price for electricity in our country is the second lowest in Europe with the exception of Iberia

New records for wholesale electricity prices.

Next-day prices are 718 euros in Italy, 706 in France, 699 in Germany.

In Greece the price is calculated at 402 euros per megawatt hour and is the second lowest in Europe with the exception of the Iberian region where Spain and Portugal due to exceptions have a price of 175.33 euros.

It is recalled that with regard to the nightmarish increase in natural gas prices in Europe, this is a result of fears of a prolonged interruption of the flow through a large pipeline.

Benchmark futures are up as much as 15% after closing at a record high on Friday.

The main conductor Nord Stream will stop for three days of maintenance on August 31again raising concerns that it will not return to service as planned after the works.

Natural gas prices recorded a jump since early morning with an increase exceeding 18%.
