The Ibram (Brazilian Mining Institute), which brings together large companies such as Vale, Usiminas and Alcoa, presented this Monday (29) the political agenda for the sector that will be presented to candidates in this year’s elections.

Among the main points, the sector talks about “combating irregular mining and illegal mining, which have generated severe negative impacts on the forest and communities, especially in the Amazon”.

The organization also calls for “turning the tables on the environmental destruction that illegal mining produces”, in addition to changes in labor legislation for underground mining and the end of the federal state monopoly on the mining of nuclear minerals.

In addition to the presidential candidates, candidates for the governments of states where mining has economic weight will also receive the document.
