“We must observe and record the situation accurately, without panic and without embellishment. A difficult winter is in store without a doubt,” the government spokesman stressed.

“Out of frame” is posed by government representative Yiannis Economou, the implementation of measures in Greece such as controlled blackouts to save energy.

Speaking on SKAI TV and the Today show, he emphasized that “there is currently no consideration on the table for restrictions or measures of a mandatory nature, nor does it appear where we are that there is a need for such a move.

“We must observe and record the situation accurately, without panic and without embellishment. A difficult winter is in store without a doubt.” emphasized Mr. Economou.

He assured that the government is doing everything it can so that there is energy sufficiency in Greece and that it is not faced with extreme scenarios as prescribed in several European countries.

Support measures are necessary so that households do not go bankrupt

He added that the crisis is two-fold as beyond the supply chain there is obviously the issue of prices and accuracy. He reminded that a support program of 2 billion euros is already “running” for September, in order to reduce the increases by 94% for 6 million households, 100% for social tariffs, 84% for businesses, 90% for farmers.

The government spokesman said it was a “necessary and appropriate” program to keep households from going bankrupt.

Substantial TIF announcements with measured and weighted measures

Mr. Economou emphasized that at the TIF the Prime Minister will make substantial announcements with measured and weighed measures for the relief of Greek society and especially those who are most in need.

“We continue firmly on the support line, next to the citizen not to zero, no one can zero the cost of imported precision, but to have as small a footprint as possible,” he said.

Belatedly, Europe adopts the Mitsotakis proposals

The government representative also referred to the measures being worked out by the Commission for energy precision, saying that with a delay, “the European Commission is coming to adopt in essence, not only the spirit, but also the essence of Mitsotakis and other countries of the South’s proposals, for substantial interventions regarding natural gas and the independence from the price of electricity.
