The measures that are on the table
Europe is oriented towards decoupling the price of natural gas and the price of electricitybut also in imposing a ceiling which is used for the production of electricity, a proposal submitted to the Summit last May by the countries of the South, including Greece, but the northern countries were then categorically opposed.
However, after the wild rally in energy prices, they appear to have reconsidered with Ursula von der Leyen yesterday announcing electricity market reform, noting that “the price of natural gas and electricity must be decoupled from each other”.
