The Saturday round of Abras (supermarket association) with the presidential candidates confirmed the presence of Bolsonaro, according to the organizers of the event.
Bolsonaro’s speech at the supermarkets’ forum was scheduled for September 20, the date of the opening of the UN General Assembly, which is made by the Brazilian president. Participation in the Abras event is online, in the afternoon.
In June, Bolsonaro already had an online meeting with Abras, when he went to the United States for the Summit of the Americas. At the time, he asked supermarkets to hold prices to contain inflation.
The Abras event will be held in partnership with Instituto Unidos Brasil, a group that has businessmen who support Bolsonaro among its participants.
Candidate Ciro Gomes has already confirmed participation, while Lula and Simone Tebet have yet to respond, according to Abras.
