Taurus gives discount on rifle and launches weapon to celebrate September 7

by

Taurus is offering “special conditions” for the purchase of rifles and carbines. The promotion is part of Brazil Week, a kind of early Black Friday to encourage retail sales created by the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government in 2019.

The initiative comes at a time of tension. This Monday (5), the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Edson Fachin determined restrictions on the number of weapons and ammunition that can be obtained by CACs (hunters, shooters and collectors), under the argument of increased risk of political violence. in the election campaign.

The decision takes place on the eve of September 7, the date on which Bolsonarist acts in support of the president are expected — one of the main banners of the group is weapons.

Among the products offered by Taurus is the T4 rifle caliber 5.56 NATO, with a capacity of 30 shots, for military and police use. According to the manufacturer, the weapon is currently also used in “championships, training and leisure”.

The company is also preparing a launch to celebrate the 7th of September. The manufacturer will launch the Taurus Independência collection, with 200 units of each model.

“The first pistol we made is now renewed to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Independence of Brazil”, he announces on his Instagram profile.

Among the new models, there are those with the engraving of the Brazilian flag and the phrase “freedom has already dawned on the horizon of Brazil”.

The Bolsonaro government has already issued 19 decrees, 17 ordinances, two resolutions, three normative instructions and two bills that make the rules for access to weapons and ammunition more flexible.

During his administration, in addition to encouraging the common citizen to arm themselves, the president gave the population access to more powerful calibers.

For allies of the president, campaigning for re-election, Fachin’s decision is a “provocation”.

In July of this year, the number of firearms in the hands of CACs reached 1 million. These categories have been the most benefited by rules enacted in the Bolsonaro government. Many have taken the opportunity to carry weapons even when they are not on their way to shooting or hunting practice.
