The project of the regeneration of Falirikos Ormos, with a budget of 200 million euros, is in the NSRF

Issued today, September 8, the invitation to the Attica Regionfor the inclusion of her work Redevelopment of Falirikos Ormosin the operational program of the Ministry of Development and Investments “Transport Infrastructures, Environment and Sustainable Development”.

The budget of the project amounts to 200 million euros and its implementation and financing will take place in 2 phases. The first phase will be implemented within the NSRF programming period 2014-2020 with funding amounting to 50 million euros and the second phase in the next programming period 2021-2027 with the remaining funding.

In more detail, as noted in an announcement by the Ministry of Development and Investments, the invitation issued as part of the directives of the responsible minister Adonis Georgiadis, by order of the deputy minister, Yiannis Tsakiris, by the special secretary for Program Management, George Zervosincludes the following projects:

• Hydraulic – anti-flood works.

• Creation of a Metropolitan Park

• Transverse displacement of Poseidon Avenue.

• Other supporting projects: projects in the sea, projects in the Metropolitan Park.

It is recalled that the comprehensive regeneration of the Faleric Front pursues the following objectives:

• The environmental upgrading of the area and the creation of a Metropolitan Park with the focus on nature, culture, exercise and entertainment.

• The restoration of the communication of the urban tissue with the sea front, with the functional rearrangement of the technical infrastructures and especially the transportation projects of the coastal zone.

• Effective flood protection of the immediate and wider area.

• The functional and aesthetic coherence of the coastal zone from the area of ​​Piraeus and the Peace and Friendship Stadium to the Faliro Delta, utilizing and upgrading the already implemented Olympic Projects.

• Ensuring the viability of the Metropolitan Park.
