MPF requires INSS experts to wear badges at São Paulo branches

by

The MPF (Federal Public Ministry) demanded that medical experts from the INSS (National Social Security Institute) in the state of São Paulo start wearing badges during working hours. According to the agency, the lack of identification made it difficult to contest the performance of these professionals.

After demanding explanations from the INSS and the Ministries of Economy and Labor and Welfare, 436 identifications were made and delivered. The orientation is that it is necessary to use them during the calls.

After handing over the badges, the MPF filed the inquiry.

In a note, the MPF said that it had received reports from policyholders in São Paulo in recent years about the difficulties they had to report failures in expertise, as they did not know the names of the experts. “Citizens are guaranteed respect and the adoption of measures in case they do not receive dignified treatment. For this reason, several measures were requested by the responsible bodies in order to provide the preparation, distribution and due warnings regarding the absence of the use of badges by medical experts”, said prosecutor Priscila Costa Schreiner, responsible for the investigation, in a note.

The ANMP (National Association of Expert Physicians) reported that the use of the identification badge was never resisted by professionals. “This was even a claim of the category for several years. It happens that, while the servers were linked to the INSS, the municipality never prioritized this issue, as well as several others. that the ID badge was made”.

According to the association, the servers do not see the identification of their members with badges as a kind of threat. “We would, however, like the MPF to be diligent in relation to other points that we consider urgent and of much greater relevance for the servers and for the insured themselves and that the MPF has not been responding satisfactorily to date”, he says, in a note.
