Pornhub was banned from Instagram after the social media app determined his account was “against our community standards.”
The Pornhub Instagram account has over 13 million followers and over 6,200 posts.
Although the site posted non-pornographic material, it was criticized for promoting it in videos with subtitles such as “Next Career Target.”
MindGeek, the company behind Pornhub, has also been sued in the US for allegedly distributing and monetizing child pornography.
The company’s advertising has already stopped using Visa and Mastercard for payment processing.
It has now been removed from Instagram after extensive lobbying for Instagram parent company Meta to remove it from the app.

Lyra Mikkelwaite, executive director of the Justice Defense Fund, a nonprofit organization, emphasized the ban but called for more action against porn platforms.
In a statement to the New York Daily News, he said: Refuse to do business with Pornhub, known for monetizing sex trafficking and criminal sexual abuse of countless victims, including children.
In 2020, Pornhub banned all unverified content after Visa and Mastercard revoked payment authorizations.
At the time, the porn site described it as “the most far-reaching protection in the history of user-generated platforms.”
Pornhub adds: By comparison, the Internet Watch Foundation has reported 118 incidents on Pornhub in the last three years.
