Panel SA: Companies maintain plans to return to the office despite the micron

by

Large companies decided to maintain their plans to resume activities in person despite the uncertainties created with the emergence of the omicron variant of the coronavirus.

Although there are still many doubts about the risks posed by the new strain and the ability of available vaccines to stop it, the companies say the precautions taken to return to offices provide security for their employees and say they are ready to review their plans if the danger turns out to be greater.

Mondelez, owner of Lacta in Brazil, says that 90% of employees have already completed the first cycle of vaccination against Covid. The company monitors new infections and says it will revise its plans if the number of cases crosses the 100-per-million mark. Desks for working in the office must be reserved in advance.

In general, large companies have adopted a hybrid model, keeping the workforce at home for much of the time. At Coca-Cola, the comeback started on Monday (6) on an experimental basis. Each building will have a maximum occupancy of 30%, and the return to face-to-face activities will be voluntary.

Employees from BRF, which owns the Sadia and Perdigão brands, began returning to the office in July. In São Paulo, the return was released to everyone. In other cities, there is a 75% occupancy limit. The company says it will monitor the evolution of the pandemic to review its protocols if necessary.
