17.9% increase in car sales in August this year according to ELSTAT

Car sales in the country increased by 17.9% in August this yearas, according to ELSTAT, 16,055 cars (new or used foreign) were released for the first time compared to 13,612 that were released in the corresponding month of 2021 (an increase of 2.7% was presented in August 2021 compared to the corresponding month of 2020).

New cars totaled 9,785 compared to 7,130 launched in August 2021, showing an increase of 37.2%.

In the 8th month, 147,531 cars (new or used foreign) were released for the first time compared to 140,273 that were released in the corresponding period of 2021, showing an increase of 5.2% (an increase of 25.6% was presented in the eighth month of 2021 compared to the corresponding period of 2020) . New cars totaled 81,326 compared to 82,248 released in the eight months of 2021, showing a decrease of 1.1%.

At the same time, in August 4,514 new motorcycles with a displacement of more than 50 cc (new and used foreign) were released compared to 3,659 in the corresponding month of 2021, showing an increase of 23.4% (a 17% increase had been shown in August 2021 compared to the corresponding month of 2020 ). New motorcycles totaled 4,155 compared to 3,304 launched in August 2021, showing an increase of 25.8%.

In the eight month, 43,691 new motorcycles with a displacement of more than 50 cc (new and used foreign) were released compared to 34,736 released in the corresponding period of 2021, showing an increase of 25.8% (an increase of 34.1% had been presented in the eight month of 2021 compared to the corresponding of 2020). New motorcycles totaling 40,366 compared to 31,570 launched in Q8 2021, showing an increase of 27.9%
