Panel SA: Health institutions raise concerns about the nursing floor during the electoral period

by

The maintenance of the injunction in the STF (Supreme Federal Court) that suspends the new floor of nursing was received by the entities representing health institutions this Thursday (15) with relief, but also with reservations of concern for the electoral period.

According to Marcos Ottoni, legal director of CNSaúde (a confederation that brings together companies in the sector), the suspension helps protect jobs that would be threatened and will allow greater discussion about the costs and impact of the new law.

“The only concern we have is because of the electoral period. So, perhaps the parliament has to meet in an extraordinary way to be able to work and get this source as soon as possible”, says Ottoni.

Antonio Britto, executive director of Anahp (which brings together large hospitals in the private network), says he hopes that the electoral calendar will not interfere with the evolution of the issue and that it will be resolved in the shortest possible time.

“If the sources had been negotiated within Congress, we wouldn’t have had this whole problem”, says Britto.

The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, released a note on Thursday stating that he will convene a meeting of leaders immediately to present solutions by Monday. “If necessary, we will hold a specific deliberative session to address the issue even during an election period. The matter remains a priority and the Congress’s commitment to nursing professionals remains firm. I hope for a solution soon,” he said in the statement.
