Dog tutors who consumed the snacks from the manufacturer Bassar Pet Food met in a whatsapp group to exchange information and charge companies about the case. They say that the delay in the process can harm the treatment of animals.
According to members of the group, the Petz chain, one of those that sold the product, requested purchase invoices and a veterinary report for analysis, but as long as the Ministry of Agriculture does not point out contamination, the company cannot help them beyond attending veterinarians.
The case began late last month, when many dogs began to feel sick and die after eating treats from Bassar Pet Food. In addition to two batches of the supplier in which the ministry identified contamination of raw material, Petz Snack Care Oral undergoes investigation in the folder.
In a statement, Petz said that it is following the investigations and adopting measures to preserve the lives of the animals, such as the withdrawal of Petz Snack Oral Care and the creation of a virtual service channel for veterinarians.
The ministry does not indicate when the expertise will be completed, but continues to investigate new cases, now involving other companies. This Friday (16), the folder determined the collection of lots from the companies FVO Alimentos, Peppy Pet Industry and Commerce of Animal Food and Upper Dog Comercial.
