Half of Brazilians should choose closer destinations to travel during the holiday season compared to the same period in 2020, according to a survey by the car rental app BlaBlaCar.
The plans follow the trend registered by the platform during the pandemic: the average distance of displacements dropped about 50 kilometers between April of last year, when it was around 203 kilometers, to 157 in September this year.
The survey, carried out in September and October with 1,200 users of the platform, shows that 70% of those interviewed must travel to the beach during their year-end holidays, while 10% intend to choose a place in the countryside.
According to BlaBlaCar, shorter trips came to be seen as safe alternatives for leisure during the pandemic. And now, even with the relaxation of restrictions, Brazilians have maintained the tendency to visit closer and less popular destinations.
