Finance and Planning Secretary of the State of São Paulo, economist Felipe Salto declared before the first round that he would vote for the Lula-Alckmin ticket for the Presidency of the Republic, despite affirming his admiration for Simone Tebet (MDB).
“The only way to quickly end the evil that is there is to vote for Lula and Alckmin,” Salto wrote on a social network on Sunday (2).
The position contrasts with that of the governor of São Paulo, Rodrigo Garcia (PSDB), who declared this Tuesday (4th) “unconditional support” for Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) in the second round contest for the government of São Paulo, and Jair Bolsonaro. (PL) in the presidential election.
“Today’s election [domingo] it is particularly important for people from São Paulo, as we run the risk of bringing Bolsonarist horror here. The deputy arrives on the back of the head demon, the inhuman and sadistic man who makes fun of people dying of shortness of breath. They will not pass!” Salto wrote that day.
Disaffected by Minister Paulo Guedes (Economy), who even criticized Salto when he commanded the IFI (Independent Fiscal Institution), linked to the Senate, the secretary also wrote that Bolsonaro removed Brazil from the international scene and tried to destroy democracy and institutions.
“In economics, he chose the one who will go down in history as the worst of all ministers,” wrote the secretary.
Sought after this Tuesday, Salto said that his personal positions are already known in this regard and that they are not to be confused with his technical work at the São Paulo Finance Department.
Rodrigo Garcia’s support for Tarcísio and Bolsonaro is a setback for the campaigns of Fernando Haddad (PT) and Lula, who also sought to attract the acronym in this second stage of the dispute in which the Bolsonaristas face. Tarcísio ended with 42.32% against 35.70% for PT.
Rodrigo finished the first round of the election in third place, with 18.4% of the valid votes, and did not advance to the second round, in a historic defeat for the PSDB in São Paulo.
“The PT has never governed our state. I make the same assessment for Brazil. What I want for São Paulo is what I want for Brazil. I declare my personal and unconditional support to Tarcísio de Freitas because I also see him, not only good work for São Paulo, but also to prevent the Workers’ Party from winning the elections here in São Paulo”, added Rodrigo.
