Vehicle production grows 11.7% between the first and second quarters

by

The production of light and heavy vehicles in September recorded an increase of 19.3% compared to the same period in 2021. The result confirms that the third quarter maintained stability in the supply of components, although problems still occur.

207,800 units were manufactured in the last month, according to Anfavea (association of automakers). In comparison with August, there was a fall of 12.7%. The third quarter ended with 665,000 units produced, an increase of 11.7% over the previous three months.

“The semiconductor problem exists, it will cross to 2023, but the expectation is that a better scenario will begin in the second half of next year”, says Márcio Lima Leite, president of Anfavea.

September ended with 194 thousand units licensed, which represents a growth of 25.1% compared to the same period in 2021. In comparison with August, however, there is a 7% drop in licensing.

The numbers were released by Fenabrave (dealers’ association) and include passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, buses and trucks.

The president of Anfavea attributed the drop in sales in relation to August to the lower number of working days. “September, in addition to going until the 30th, had the holiday on the 7th. When comparing month against month, it ends up having an impact.”
