In the heart of São Paulo, the Golden Bull installed in front of the B3, the Brazilian Stock Exchange, caused great confusion in the month of November. From political criticism to accusations of plagiarism by the Bronze Bull on Wall Street, in New York, USA, the piece created by the architect and plastic artist Rafael Brancatelli, 41, became an object of ideological dispute.

The battle was short-lived, as the sculpture did not have an urban license to be installed and was considered irregular advertising by the city of São Paulo.

Removed after a week on display, the Golden Bull opened space for the new tenant on the sidewalk of the historic center of São Paulo: the thin yellow cow.

The new sculpture was installed by the artist Márcia Pinheiro and was exhibited for about four hours, from 7:30 am to 11:30 am this Thursday (9). The artist herself removed the piece after inspectors from the Sé district were called.

The lean cow is part of a collection of ten skeletal cow sculptures conceived in 2011 and exhibited on the streets of Fortaleza, Ceará, for five years. At the time, the objective was to draw attention to the severe drought in the Brazilian Northeast.
