A campaign launched last year by telephone operators, banks and retailers to educate the population about taking care of personal data sent 1.4 billion messages with safety tips, according to Conexis, an association that represents the telecommunications sector.
Under pressure from Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks) and Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) to eliminate loopholes that facilitate fraud, operators say they have made adjustments to their systems, but argue that the problem will not be resolved without educational actions.
