The financial staff monitors the evolution of diesel prices every day and is ready to intervene if the crisis worsens.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the diesel subsidy will start from November 1, if prices do not drop substantially in the interim.
Besides, the signing of the ministerial decision on the heating allowance is expected within days.
The decision provides minimum allowance of 100 euros and maximum increased to 800 from 700 euros last year.
The income criteria for new beneficiaries that will turn to heating oil or other sources other than electricity and natural gas are 14,000 euros for singles and 20,000 euros for couples.
For old beneficiaries the income criteria are expanded to 16,000 euros for singles, 24,000 euros for couples with an increase of 3,000 euros for each child in both cases.
With the same decision, the property limit for single people is increased from 180,000 to 200,000.
