Panel SA: Restaurants report difficulty in hiring a cook for the World Cup

by

A survey by Abrasel (association of bars and restaurants) points to optimism in the sector, with a forecast of increased demand for the World Cup, Christmas and the New Year.

More than 50% of entrepreneurs plan to increase the number of employees this year, according to Abrasel. Only 2% project layoffs.

The roles of kitchen assistant, waiter, attendant and cook are the most sought after.

Despite the optimism, companies reported difficulty finding skilled labor in September.

The most difficult professionals to hire were cooks, followed by chefs, waiters, kitchen assistants and attendants.
