In her village Cottons of Laconia we created the first mountain business center, a collaborative space for the development of business ideas that will have direct application in the Greek countryside, within the framework of the Village Revival initiative implemented by Vamvakou Revival with the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). In this new venture and its creation we are collaborating with Impact Hub Athens. By combining the knowledge and experience of our team in the revitalization of the area with the expertise and international practice of Impact Hub Athens in the development of entrepreneurship, we are creating an innovative incubator for start-ups.
We invite people with passion and dreams, interested start-ups as well as business groups of up to 5 people who have a business idea or start a business initiative, which responds to needs and/or development opportunities of the Peloponnese Region in the fields of of agri-food, tourism, culture and technology/innovation, to complete their application for participation in the 1st Round of the Support & Hospitality Program of the Vamvakou Incubator structure until Friday, December 9, 2022.
The Program is to support ideas, individuals or groups and motivate young or potential entrepreneurs to mature their business plans, develop their business idea, transform an idea into a successful start-up or grow an existing start-up .
The benefits of the Program concern in comprehensive business support, provision of fully accessible workplaces and technological equipment, free third-party consulting services, educational workshops, programs, seminars, individual and group career counseling sessions and networking.
Vamvakou Incubator is planning online Q&A sessions with interested parties as well as events to get to know the Program in the next period.
The business incubator is part of the Peloponnese Operational Program 2014-2020 in the Priority Axis “Strengthening the competitiveness, attractiveness and extroversion of the Region, transition to quality entrepreneurship with cutting edge innovation and increasing regional added value”. Vamvakou Incubator and its operation are supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), as part of the Vamvakou Revival initiative.

A few words about Vamvakou Revival and Incubator
Just a few kilometers from Sparta and Tripoli, on the slopes of Laconian Parnon and at an altitude of 903 m., there is a small picturesque village, Vamvakou. Vamvakou Revival was founded in 2018, with the aim of completely revitalizing the village of Vamvakous Lakonia, by a group of young people with origins and strong ties to the village, having the moral and financial support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). In recent years, the two organizations have shared the common vision of the Revival of Vamvakos, with supplies of the history, human capital and natural wealth of the region.
The vision is to create a “model” village based on the sustainable development of the place, with the primary objective of returning permanent residents. The main vehicle is the creation of employment opportunities and the provision of modern living conditions, so that in a few years Vamvakou will once again be bustling with life with families, children, and the first school bell will ring again. The main pillars of the initiative are tourism, innovation, agri-food and entrepreneurship. The intention is for Vamvakou to chart the path of revival, aspiring to act as a model for many more villages to follow in Greece and internationally.
Vamvakou Incubator is going to function as a development center and a lever for attracting new business activity to the place, providing answers to problems, through supporting the development of new services/products/solutions, while it will contribute significantly to the revitalization and quality upgrade of the economy in wider area of ​​Parnon and the Peloponnese Region.
