R$ 81.8 million of PIS allowances are forgotten in Caixa; see how to withdraw

About 107 thousand workers who are entitled to the PIS 2022 salary bonus have not yet withdrawn the benefit of up to BRL 1,212. According to Caixa Econômica Federal, the “forgotten” amount totals R$ 81.8 million. Beneficiaries have until December 29 of this year to apply for the money.

The consultation to find out if you are entitled to the allowance can be made through the service channels of the Ministry of Labor and Welfare, on phone 158, on the Digital Work Card application and on the gov.br portal.

Call Center 158 was overwhelmed this Monday (18), the day Caixa paid a supplementary batch of PIS allowances to around 1.1 million workers. In a new test carried out by the report this Tuesday (19), there were 14 minutes of waiting to be answered.

The government reported that the demand for service increased and caused congestion in the channels at certain times of the day. The ministry’s recommendation is that the user try to make the call between the hours of 7 am to 9 am or from 5 pm to 7 pm.

The PIS (Social Integration Program) is paid by Caixa to workers hired through the CLT (Consolidation of Labor Laws). It is different from Pasep (Public Servant Asset Formation Program), which is deposited by Banco do Brasil to professionals in the public sector.

The allowance is released every year according to the schedule approved by Codefat (Deliberative Council of the Worker Support Fund). In 2022, deposits for the 2020 base year were released in February and March. However, those who were unable to withdraw have until December 29 of this year to have the benefit.

Every year, part of the Brazilians entitled to the allowance do not withdraw the amounts from the calendar, as they do not know that they are entitled.

The lot released by Caixa this Monday has PIS allowances that underwent review, which were requested in court and the amounts that were not withdrawn by workers in calendars already closed (years 2016 to 2020).

WHO IS ENTITLED TO THE SALARY BONUS

• Worker registered with PIS for at least five years
• With an average monthly salary of up to two minimum wages during the base year
• Who performed remunerated activity for PJ (Legal Entity), for at least 30 consecutive days or not, in the base year considered for calculation
• Who has data correctly informed by the employer in Rais (Annual List of Social Information/eSocial

PAYMENT IS PROPORTIONAL TO THE MONTHS WORKED

The payment of the salary bonus is proportional to the number of months worked in the base year. The calculation considers 1/12 of the minimum wage valid on the date of payment, multiplied by the number of months worked in the corresponding year, rounded up, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

If the beneficiary worked all year, he/she receives the full amount. If you worked one month, you will receive R$ 101. Fractions of 15 days or more are considered 30 days.

The benefit can be consulted by calling 158, on the Digital Work Card application and on the gov.br portal. The website gives access to the same information about the allowance that is in the Digital Work Card.

The withdrawal is made at Caixa Econômica Federal. For those who are customers, the deposit has already been made directly into the account. Those who do not have a Caixa account receive the amounts in digital social savings, operated by the Caixa Tem app.

In the application, it is possible to pay slips, make purchases or transfer money to another bank account. Withdrawal is allowed after generating a password, and there is the possibility of performing Pix.

Those who have a Citizen Card and password can withdraw the allowance at ATMs, lotteries and the corresponding Caixa Aqui.

The worker can also look for a Caixa branch to withdraw the values.
