Bolsonarists who carry out acts of a coup nature closed on Tuesday night (1st) three lanes of the Anchieta highway (SP-150), at the height of kilometers 17 and 18, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), towards the coast. The action takes place on the eve of the All Souls’ holiday.
Ecovias, the concessionaire that manages the road, confirmed the presence of protesters in the marginal lane and said that traffic in the place is congested. With the Imigrantes highway, Anchieta forms the road system that connects the capital of São Paulo to Baixada Santista.
Since Sunday (30) night, supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) have been blocking highways across Brazil to protest the election result.
Defeated in his re-election bid, Bolsonaro spoke on Tuesday afternoon. He said that “current popular movements are the result of indignation and a feeling of injustice in the electoral process” and that “peaceful demonstrations will always be welcome.” He condemned, however, “left methods” such as curtailing the right to come and go.
In groups on Telegram, his supporters understood that “between the lines” the president’s message was for the maintenance of the protests.
In Anchieta, protesters set off fireworks, carried Brazilian flags and honked their horns. According to Ecovias, there is already police in place.
