With the change of government, directors of the main pension funds of state-owned companies even hired headhunters (talent scouts) to sew appointments in other pension foundations or bodies linked to indirect administration.
One of those executives is Bruno Dias, president of Petros, the billionaire pension fund for Petrobras employees. A career BNDES employee, he is linked to Solange Vieira, appointed by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, to head Susep (Superintendence of Private Insurance).
His headhunter’s mission is difficult: to unlink his name from Gustavo Montezano, president of BNDES, and from Solange Vieira, with the PT.
One of the solutions will be to remember that Solange Vieira was president of Anac, the aviation agency, during Lula’s first term.
Through his advice, Bruno Dias denied having hired a headhunter to leave the foundation.
He said that he remains “focused on running the foundation” and that, under his management, the two most important defined benefit plans at Petros showed a surplus after 9 years.
On the board of Funcef and Previ (Banco do Brasil), three executives spoke to the column on condition of anonymity. They claim that they have already called on party leaders from Lula’s support base to get nominations. One of them also activated a recruiter with dialogue with PT and PSB politicians to bridge the gap.
At Funcef, the PDT, the party of former deputy Carlos Lupi, is the one that has received the most requests for positions in state banks, pension funds or Previc, the regulatory body for this sector.
According to one of the Funcef directors involved, the national directorate is the one who coordinates this movement for positions in the PDT.
Lupi supported Lula in the second round of the electoral campaign at a decisive moment for the formation of the so-called “broad front”, which guaranteed the victory to PT.
